Dine Out Vancouver: Street Food City

These past three days have seen the streets of Vancouver transformed into a setting reminiscent of California. I’m not referring to palm trees, beachside boardwalks, or swarms of paparazzi; I’m thinking of something even better: the convergence of our city’s food trucks!

As you can imagine, with eight to choose from in one location, Street Food City has been a food truck fanatic’s dream. Curb your comfort food craving with a marbled rye/ pepperjack/swiss grilled cheese from Mom’s Grilled Cheese truck, indulge in tangy southern fare at the Re-Up BBQ truck, keep yourself warm on our cold winter days with Coma Food Truck’s slightly spicy miso soup, delve into world-famous butter tarts at La Brasserie, and find balance with a juice or smoothie from The Juice Truck.

This event may be over for the year, but not to worry, each of these restaurants-on-wheels will be dishing out their famous meals in their usual spots starting tomorrow, January 27th, 2012. And, while they may not be all in one convenient spot, there will likely be shorter lines, meaning you can go back to ordering and consuming their offerings all in the span of your lunch break.

As always, wishing you a stamp of culinary royalty in all of your dining endeavours! xx
