A Little Philly in Our Own Backyard

When I walk by a restaurant with a lineup out the door, continuing past it is a near impossibility.

So, with hoards of people stuffed into the entry of The American Cheesesteak Company nearly a week after its opening, the force pulling me in may as well have been gravity; I simply could not overcome it.

With Food Network Canada chef Anthony Sedlak (The Main) as the man behind the cheesesteak, I had high expectations.

This being my fourth Philly Cheesesteak experience, I opted for a Philly with huge flavour – The Cowboy. The buns are made in-house so you cannot beat the freshness, but the focus is on the thick pile of the juiciest shaved prime rib I’ve tasted in a sandwich. Sedlak had a stroke of genius adding thinly sliced fried onions, an out of this world barbecue sauce, sharp aged white cheddar that oozed out from the beef, and a bacon mayo that gave this Philly Cheesesteak an unparalelled smoky flavour.

If you hadn’t guessed already, I would most definitely award Chef Anthony Seldlak’s newest venture the stamp of culinary royalty!

For more information on The Cowboy, the ACC fries (handcut double cooked fries tossed in an explosion of flavour – i.e. garlic, parsley and parmesan cheese!), and Sedlak himself, check out http://americancheesesteak.com/ .

As always, wishing you a stamp of culinary royalty in all of your dining endeavours! xx
